About Us
The SmartWheels® Velocity Control and Brake System
has been designed and patented by Concept Sports, LLC. We are an
offshoot of Concept Equipment Automation, LLC an engineering company
that designs and builds custom manufacturing equipment.
Through our experience and good manufacturing practices we have engineered
and built our SmartWheels brake products to perform with great success both in the
lab and in the field. A second place award given by Design News Magazine gives credit to the engineering expertise used in developing SmartWheels.
The SmartWheels brake idea came about
while our founder Bob Brandriff, a
professional engineer, was involved with designing and building
a machine for one of the leading inline skate manufacturers. His
efforts in combination with help from co-inventor, Ed Avila
resulted in the patent for SmartWheels.
Since the patent has issued, the popularity of
SmartWheels has grown world-wide! We expect that our brake
will set the standard for all future brakes.
